कहानी 3

 

 Election were due in January 1996. There was a political Voltality every where. One day when Apoorv was in the club by chance Sandhi came there. Had Sandhi knew about Apoorv's presence, she could have avoided coming there. Same was the case of Apoorv. But since Sandhi had already entered so she straight way came to Apoorv's table and put her bag there. After sitting with him for some time she went to a group of ladies sitting there on a table. One of her friends Ms. Jaanvi who was a reporter asked " Is he your husband ". Sandhi said " do you think I have kept my purse with my neighbor."They all started laughing. Then Janvi said" Why don't you introduce him with us. We know that you don't have time so in your absence we will entertain him. After all we are his sisters in law." They all laughed again. After that Sandhi introduced Apoorv with all of them. 

उधर चुनाव का माहौल गर्म थाl जनवरी 1996 में चुनाव होने थे। एक दिन शाम को जब अपूर्व क्लब में बैठा था तभी अचानक संधि वहां आ गई। न संधि को यह पता था कि अपूर्व वँहा होगा और न अपूर्व को यह पता था की संधि वहां आने वाली है। वरना शायद वह ऐसी स्थिति से बचते। मगर संधि अंदर आ ही गई और अपूर्व को देखा तो उसके टेबल पर जाना उसके लिए आवश्यक था। वहां आकर उसके टेबल पर पहुंच कर अपना पर्स रख दिया। अपूर्व से मिलकर अपनी सहेलियों से मिलने चली गई। उसकी एक सहेली जानवी जो पत्रकार भी है उसने उससे पूछ लिया "संधि क्या वह तुम्हारे पति हैं"। संधि ने जवाब दिया "तो क्या मैं अपने पड़ोसी के पास अपना पर्स रख कर आऊंगी"। इस पर सब जोर से हंस पड़ी। तभी जानवी ने कहा "हमसे मिलवाओगी नहीं क्या। तुम्हारे पास तो टाइम नहीं है। रोज अकेले टाइम पास करते हैं। चलो मिलवा दो हम सालिया ही उनका टाइम पास करा दिया करेंगी"। इतना कहकर सब एक बार फिर हंस पड़ी। सन्धि ने इन पांचों को ले जाकर अपूर्व से परिचय करवा दिया। 

Next day when Apoorv was sitting in club then Jaanvi came and put her bag on his table and said"Hello" and took a seat. Apoorv also said "Hello". Jaanvi said " How could I call you 'Jijoo' or by name." Apoorv said "As you feel comfortable". Jaanvi said" It is too early to feel anything ". Apoorv said "if you don't feel anything then no formality and call me by name as Apoorv". Then they started talking to each other. This is a common phenomenon that whenever two strangers meet for first time then generally they talk about weather or politics. So they started talking about Politics. Jaanvi said "it seems that there will be a hung Parliament". Apoorv said " It seems to be so. But being a Press Reporter you know better." Jaanvi said" There were so many allegations of corruption levelled against Narsimha Rao Government but Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao is not saying anything on this. This has given a bad name to Congress. On other hand BJP is having no grounds in South, West Bengal and North East India. How could they come in power. Any way leave politics aside, let us talk some thing else. Where is Sandhi today." In a light mood Apoorv said" Yesterday you took my responsibility in the absence of Sandhi, so when you are here then Sandhi is not required here." But Jaanvi said in a serious tone " I know Sandhi from college time. She is over ambitious. She can go to any level to fulfill her ambition. She can leave any one and join any one to fulfill her ambition. If you don't mind I have always seen you sitting alone and lost in your own thoughts. You know what is beauty of sitting alone in a crowded place that there will be a lot questions surrounding you but you are not forced to answer them. Whenever you breathe to answer one of them then so many others enters in you with your next breath. I don't know that whether you are introvert by nature or some one have made you so alone." Apoorv said "Jaanvi you are a reporter by profession and it is a part of your profession to read the mind of the people. I would say that you are perfect in your profession. As far as I am concerned I was introvert by nature but others have also added to it. But I wiil say there is a great craze in while listening to all the questions but not answering them. Because whenever a question arise then so many answers covers it around. It is sweet will of question whether to accept any of them or let them remain there where they are. Question know that it has arisen due to them only. But Yes, I have some people in the name of family. I include them in my joy and sorrows. I know that I have no feeling for them but still I am with them. You know what is our problem, we have rejected the Joint Family but now our generation is in the process of rejecting the concept of family and moving towards individualism. But we do not dare to break our families. Now the next generation may or may not go ahead with this concept of modernization. They may go ahead with the idea of Live in or may go back towards family or rather Joint family." Jaanvi said "Apoorv you are a wonderful man. You are alone in your own vicious circle but still attached to them. On the other side people like me who presume that they are attached to everyone but in fact they are not even attached to themselves. The questions which were surrounding people like me have also left us alone. Any way I am a Press Reporter and I am used to ask questions from every one but not habitual of answering any one. You are happy with your inner loneliness and you do not like to come out of this and ask questions from others. So I hope these habbits can make us very good friends. Now leave this philosophical topic and have beer and discuss politics which is a topic of common interest." 

                     अगले दिन शाम को अपूर्व जब क्लब में बैठा तो तभी जानवी अपना लंबा सा बैग लेकर वहां आ गई। उसके साथ बैठकर उसने पूछा "कैसे बुलाऊं आपको, अपूर्व या जीजू"। अपूर्व बोला "जैसे मन को अच्छा महसूस होता है वह बुलाओ"। जानवी बोली "महसूस तो कुछ नहीं होता"। इस पर अपूर्व ने कहा "जब कुछ महसूस ही नहीं होता तो कोई फॉर्मेलिटी नहीं है सिर्फ अपूर्व बुलाओ"। फिर बातचीत शुरू हुई तो जानवी बोली "इस बार तो कोई सरकार बहुमत में नहीं आने वाली"। अपूर्व बोला "हां लगता तो ऐसा ही है ।मगर आपको ज्यादा पता होगा क्योंकि आप तो पत्रकार हैं।" जानवी बोली "कुछ समझ नहीं आ रहा कि श्री नरसिम्हा राव पर इतने भ्रष्टाचार के आरोप लगते रहे हैं, मगर वह कोई जवाब ही नहीं देते। भाजपा का ग्राउंड साउथ इंडिया में बहुत कम है । बंगाल में वह है ही नहीं l नॉर्थ ईस्ट मैं भी इसकी बहुत कम पहचान है l देखिए आगे क्या होता है। चलिए छोड़िए और आज संधि  कहा है।" अपूर्व ने हंसकर कहा "आज आप हैं तो संधि की क्या जरूरत है।" मगर जानवी ने गंभीरता से कहा "मैं संधि को कॉलेज से जानती हूं वह बहुत महत्वाकांक्षी है। अपनी महत्वाकांक्षा को पूरा करने के लिए किसी भी हद तक जा सकती है। किसी को भी छोड़ सकती है और किसी से भी मिल सकती है। शायद इसलिए उसके माता-पिता ने उसका नाम संधि रखा है। आप अगर बुरा ना माने तो एक बात कहूं l मैं कई दिनों से आपको देख रही हूं। आप अकेले बैठे और अपने अंतर्मन में खोए से रहते हैं। जब आदमी भीड़ भाड़ में चुपचाप अकेला बैठा होता है तो उसके आसपास बहुत से प्रश्न उड़ रहे होते हैं । एक सांस में जब किसी प्रश्न का उत्तर निकलता है। तो अगले ही सांस के साथ कितने ही प्रश्न और अंदर चले जाते हैं l नहीं जानती कि आप आदतन अकेले हैं कि किसी ने आप को अकेला कर दिया।" अपूर्व ने एक गहरी सांस छोड़ते हुए कहा "जानवी तुम एक पत्रकार हो और लोगों के दिमाग पढ़ने की योग्यता तुम्हारे प्रोफेशन का हिस्सा है। और तुममें यह कला अच्छी तरह भरी हुई है। जहां तक मेरा सवाल है, तो कुछ मैं आदतन अकेला था और कुछ लोगों ने मुझे तनहा कर दिया। सच बताऊं तो इस अकेलेपन की एक अलग मस्ती है। जो मर्जी सोचो, जो मर्जी समझो, कोई कुुुछ कहने वाला नहीं है। हां परिवार के नाम पर कुछ लोग हैं l जिनके सुख दुख में वो आप को शामिल करते हैं और अपने सुख दुख में आप उन्हें शामिल कर लेते हैं। यानी कि हम न तो पूरी तरह पश्चिमी सभ्यता में पहुंच पाए हैं कि अकेले रहें। और न ही संयुक्त परिवार के सिद्धांत पर चल रहे हैं। हमारी पीढ़ी ने संयुक्त परिवार नकार दी मगर अपने परिवार को बिखेर कर अकेले रहने का साहस नहीं जुटा पाई।" जानवी बोली "अपूर्व आप समझदार हो कि अपने अपने अकेलेपन के दायरे में रहकर भी एक दूसरे से जुड़े हुए हो। शायद मेरी तरह कुछ लोग हैं जो अपने अकेलेपन को छुपा कर हर किसी से जुड़े होने का भ्रम पैदा करते हैं। मगर असल में वह खुद से भी जुड़े नहीं होते। उनके आसपास घूम रहे प्रश्न भी अब उनको अकेला छोड़ कर जा चुके हैं। क्योंकि उन्होंने कभी उनको जवाब ही नहीं दिया। उनमें से मैं हूं एक तलाकशुदा महिला। मैं पत्रकार हूं सवाल तो बहुत करती हूं मगर सवाल का जवाब देने की हमें आदत नहीं है l लगता है आपको अपने अकेलेपन से बाहर आकर किसी से सवाल पूछने की आदत नहीं है l  इसलिए हमारी दोस्ती काफी निभ सकती है।छोड़ो अब और आपको बोर नहीं करूंगी। एक एक बियर लेते हैं और राजनीति पर बात करते हैं, जो आपके और मेरे दोनों के इंटरेस्ट का विषय है।" 

           While taking beer they started discussing politics. Apoorv asked "Jaanvi being a Reporter you might be knowing the reality of attack on Ms. Mayawati on 2nd June 1995 in Lucknow Guest House." Jaanvi said " In 1993 when SP, BSP and other parties made a Government and it continued for more than one year then BJP got worried. The reason for their worry was that if this Government continued for a long time then it will be difficult for BJP to come back. So they started sending signals to BSP to withdraw support from SP and BJP will give her support and she will be the Chief Minister. At last on 2nd June 1995 BSP called a meeting of its MLAs in Lucknow Guest House to discuss withdrawal of support from SP. When the meeting was going on, a big mob of SP supporters attacked the Guest House. Even they attacked the Hall where the meeting was going on and break in. They beated some of the MLAs but in the meantime Ms. Mayawati was shifted to adjoining room and she locked her self from inside. Mob was bent upon breaking in that room also where Ms. Mayawati was there. The senior reporters informed the Police and SDM and police team reached there and controlled the situation. One MLA of BJP Mr. Brahm Dutt Divedi took Ms Mayawati along with him. On 3rd June 1995 Ms. Mayawati took the oath of Chief Minister with BJP support. Yaar, Apoorv you tell me which way our politics is going these days. No policy, no program, no ideology, they just have one aim, that is to grab power by any means."

             बीयर पीते हुए अपूर्व ने पूछा "जानवी आप तो पत्रकार हो। आपको तो जरूर पता होगा कि 2 जून 1995 को सुश्री मायावती के साथ जो लखनऊ में गेस्ट हाउस कांड हुआ था, उसकी क्या सच्चाई है।" जानवी ने कहा "सन 1993 में समाजवादी पार्टी और बहुजन समाज पार्टी ने अन्य दलों के साथ मिलकर सरकार बनाई। भाजपा को 1 साल बीतते बीतते यह चिंता सताने लगी, कि अगर यह सरकार लंबी चल गई और इन दोनों पार्टियों में गठबंधन मजबूत हो गया, तो उत्तर प्रदेश जैसे राज्य में भाजपा के लिए बहुत मुश्किल हो जाएगी। अतः उन्होंने बीएसपी को संदेश देने शुरू किए कि अगर वह समाजवादी पार्टी से अपना समर्थन वापस ले लें, तो भाजपा उत्तर प्रदेश में सुश्री मायावती को समर्थन देकर मुख्यमंत्री बना देगी। आखिर 2 जून 1995 को सुश्री मायावती ने लखनऊ गेस्ट हाउस में अपने विधायकों की मीटिंग बुलाई। जिसमें यह फैसला करना था कि समाजवादी पार्टी की सरकार को समर्थन वापस ले लिया जाए। मीटिंग चल रही थी इतने में समाजवादी पार्टी के समर्थकों की एक बड़ी भीड़ ने जंहा मीटिंग चल रही थी उस गेस्ट हाउस पर हमला बोल दिया। जंहा मीटिंग चल रही थी, उस हाल का दरवाजा अंदर से बंद कर दिया गया था। उसे भी तोड़कर भीड़ अंदर घुस गई तथा विधायकों से मारपीट करना शुरू कर दी। बड़ी मुश्किल से सुश्री मायावती ने खुद को एक कमरे में बंद कर लिया था। जो पत्रकार वहां मौजूद थे उन्होंने पुलिस के उच्च अधिकारियों तक खबर पहुंचाई। भीड़ का एक दल उस कमरे के दरवाजे को भी तोड़ने को आमादा था जंहा सुश्री माया वती थी। तभी पुलिस की फोर्स तथा जिला मजिस्ट्रेट ने आकर स्थिति को संभाला। भाजपा विधायक ब्रह्मदत्त द्विवेदी जो एक दबंग नेता के रूप में जाने जाते थे, वह सुश्री मायावती  को वहां से निकाल कर ले गए। अगले दिन 3 जून 1995 को सुश्री मायावती ने भाजपा के समर्थन से मुख्यमंत्री की शपथ ले ली। यार अपूर्व, यह बताओ कि यह हमारी राजनीति की दशा पिछले कुछ सालों में इतनी खराब क्यो हो गई है। कोई गठबंधन की विचारधारा नहीं है, कोई जनता के लिए प्रोग्राम नहीं है, कोई  दिशा शासन चलाने की नहीं है, बस एक ही मकसद सब कुछ ताक पर रखकर किसी भी तरह सत्ता ले लो। कहां ले जाएंगे देश को यह लोग।" 

        Apoorv liked the way of talking of Jaanvi specially calling him 'Yaar.' Because Nisha had always called him in a formal and respectful manners due to his seniority in bank and age difference. But Jaanvi and Apoorv were of same age group so they could talk in an informal and friendly manner. Apoorv said "See Jaanvi  1977 election was fought on the issue of Emergency, in1984 election the issue of Indira ji's death was dominanting, in1989 election corruption was the main issue, and in 1991 death of She. Rajiv Gandhi was the emotional issue which dominate the election. In such elections the voters are least concerned about the election Manifesto or back ground of the candidate. So all these elections were dominated by one or the other emotional issues. In such charged elections the parties are not required to work hard on the Election Manifesto. In such election some good slogans which may touch the emotions are required. But this time no emotional issues are there so let us see what happens." With completing her Jaanvi said "You know Apoorv after a long time I have stayed so long in the club. Otherwise I use to come, take a beer and after getting fed up with their gossips and discussion on dresses and ornaments, I left within an hour. Today I had a very good time with you. I think I have not bored you." Apoorv said " I also have very nice time with you. I hope we will keep meeting. Good Night." With this they both moved out. 

             अपूर्व को जानवी का यार कहना अच्छा लगा। निशा के साथ बात करते हुए अपूर्व औपचारिक भाषा में बात करते थे और निशा भी उनसे सीनियर की तरह संबोधित करती थी। मगर जानवी और अपूर्व हम उम्र है और आपस में दोस्त की तरह बात कर सकते है। अपूर्व बोले "देखो जानवी 1977 में इमरजेंसी के नाम पर, 1984 में इंदिरा जी की हत्या के नाम पर, 1989 बोफोर्स कांड के नाम पर, 1991 में राजीव गांधी हत्याकांड के नाम पर, हम देख रहे हैं कि चुनाव भावनात्मक मुद्दों पर लड़े जा रहे हैं। जनता किसी पार्टी के दिए गए घोषणा पत्र को ठीक से पढती भी नहीं है और न ही अपने इलाके के कैंडिडेट के बारे में कुछ पता करती है। बस कुछ नारे जनता को दिए जाते हैं, जिसके आधार पर जनता भावनाओं में बह जाती है और वोट कर देती है। इस बार क्योंकि कोई भावनात्मक मुद्दा नहीं है। इसलिए देखते हैं क्या होता है।" बीयर खत्म करते हुए जानवी ने कहा "अपूर्व बहुत दिनों बाद इतनी देर तक क्लब में बैठी हूं। वरना तो आती हूं इन औरतों की गहने, कपड़े और गॉसिप से बोर होकर एक बियर पी कर चली जाती हूँ। आज शाम तुम्हारे साथ बहुत अच्छी बीती। उम्मीद है कि मैंने तुम्हें बोर नहीं किया।" अपूर्व ने कहा "नॉट अट ऑल l मेरे को बहुत ही अच्छा लगा उम्मीद है हम मिलते रहेंगे गुड नाइट।"

Next few days ware the usual day Jaanvi met him but nothing special was discussed. But now they started meeting frequently. In Christmas holidays Shandily came home. Home again became home as Sandhi started coming well in time, Apoorv stop going to club. Sandhi and Apoorv started sleeping in the same room as Apoorv had occupied Shandily's room in his absence. When they started sleeping in the same room then they noted some behavioural changes in other's routines. Now Sandhi used to make long call to someone in Europe, Sandhi noted that Apoorv use to send Good Night message to Jaanvi and Nisha. On the New Year Eve there was a grand party at home. So many friends of Shandily, Sandhi and Apoorv were called including Jaanvi, Nisha and Jivesh. It was a nice party. When the Shandily joined back his hostel then life again came to previous routine. 

    अगले कोई दिन कोई खास बात नहीं हुई। जानवी मिली मगर कुछ खास बात नहीं हुई। मगर अब वह नियमित रूप से मिलना शुरू हो गए। क्रिसमिस पर शांडिल्य घर आया तो अपूर्व का क्लब जाना बंद हो गया। और संधि भी घर जल्दी वापस आने लगी। घर में एक बार फिर रौनक हो गई। शांडिल्य का यह तीसरा साल था। शांडिल्य के आने से संधि और अपूर्व फिर एक कमरे में सोने लगे, क्योंकि शांडिल्य का कमरा ही अपूर्व ने ले रखा था। बहुत दिनों बाद एक कमरे में सोए, तो कई नई बातें एक दूसरे की नोट की। जैसे संधि देर रात को यूरोप में किसी से लंबी बातें करती है। अपूर्व सोने से पहले निशा और जानवी को पेजर पर गुड नाइट करता है। (वह पेजर का जमाना था)। नववर्ष की पूर्व संध्या पर घर में खूब हंगामा रहा। शांडिल्य के काफी दोस्त आ गए थे और काफी मजेदार पार्टी रही। अपने फ्रेंड सर्कल में लड़कियों के होने से अपूर्व भी यह समझने लगा था कि स्त्री-पुरुष सिर्फ दोस्त भी हो सकते हैं। शांडिल्य के कॉलेज वापस जाने के बाद उनकी दिनचर्या फिर वापस पुराने ढर्रे पर आ गई।     

It was second week of January Apoorv recieved a call from Nisha to meet somewhere.They decided to meet in the afternoon in same restaurant. They reached in time and after placing orders Nisha said "for quite a long time we have not met and you are not seems to be active in Union activities." Apoorv said" Nisha you have asked me two questions. First we have not met for a long time. So I would say Yes because Shandily was at home so I couldn't come. Second question you have asked that I am not active in Union. For that I want to ask you a counter question whether this is your own question or someone has asked you to ask this to me." Nisha said " The question is mine but the reasons behind that was very shortly Union Conference will be held. Union is double minded in your case whether to give you a post or not." Apoorv said "See Nisha I do not want to keep you in dark. Actually for some time I have found that in negotiations Union has started policy of Give and take and I am not in favour of this. Now leaders have their focus on transfers then on the basic issues. To some extent employees are also responsible. There are multiple unions in the banking sector and most of the employees has started thinking that for general issues they will also get the same what the others are getting. But I will join only that Union who can get me my desired branch. So every leader want to focus on getting the desired branch for their favorite members. The Management also understand the limitations of the leader. They know that leaders can compromise anything for transfers. So they are taking benefits of this. I feel suffocated in such atmosphere. So that is why I am not active. As far as post is concerned so I am not in Union for any post etc. I am here only for my Principles and as you herself has seen that for principles I have left my wife's business also. So don't worry about that. As far as meeting with you is concerned so I, will introduce you with my new friend in club and we will start meeting their from next time. So how is Jivesh and Vatika."

           जनवरी का प्रथम सप्ताह था एक दिन निशा का फोन आया। वह उससे मिलना चाहती थी। सर्दी थी इसलिए दोपहर को कनॉट प्लेस में मिलने का समय पक्का हुआ। ठीक समय पर निशा आ गई । चाय और सैंडविच का आर्डर देने के बाद अपूर्व ने निशा की तरफ प्रश्नवाचक नजरों से देखा। निशा बोली "अपूर्व आप कई दिनों से मिले ही नहीं और न यूनियन की गतिविधियों में सक्रिय नजर आते हो।" अपूर्व ने निशा को कहा "देखो निशा तुम्हारी बात में दो सवाल हैं। पहला कि मैं तुमसे काफी दिनों से नहीं मिला। यह बात बिल्कुल ठीक है, क्योंकि शांडिल्य छुट्टियों में घर आया हुआ था। दूसरा कि मैं यूनियन मैं सक्रिय नहीं हूं। इसका जवाब देने से पहले मैं तुमसे एक सवाल पूछना चाहता हूं, कि यह सवाल तुम्हारा है या कि यह सवाल यूनियन ने कहा है तुमसे पता करने को।"  निशा बोली "अपूर्व यह तो यह सवाल मेरा है। मगर इसके पीछे कारण यह है कि यूनियन का अधिवेशन होने वाला है। यूनियन इस बात पर विचार कर रही है कि तुम्हें इस बार कोई पद दिया जाए कि नहीं।" अपूर्व ने जवाब दिया " देखो निशा जहां तक तुम्हारा संबंध है तो मैं कुछ छुपाना नहीं चाहता। पिछले कुछ समय से यूनियन ने जिस तरह संघर्ष का रास्ता छोड़कर लेने देने की बात  प्रबंधकों से बातचीत करते हुए शुरू कर दी हैं, उससे मैं बहुत निराश हूं। क्योंकि मैं भी बातचीत करने की टीम का सदस्य हूं l तो मैं देखता हूं कि सिद्धांत पर विचार करने की बजाय ज्यादातर बातें ट्रांसफर पर होती हैं। हर नेता चाहता है कि उसके समर्थकों को मनचाही ब्रांच में रखा जाए। उसके लिए वह किसी भी सिद्धांत को छोड़ने को तैयार है। इस स्थिति के लिए सिर्फ नेता ही नहीं बल्कि कर्मचारी खुद भी जिम्मेदार हैं। क्योंकि अब एक से ज्यादा यूनियन बैंकिंग में सक्रिय है। इसलिए कर्मचारी यह सोचता है कि सिद्धांतों से तो जो सबके साथ होना हैं, वह मेरे साथ भी हो जाएंगा। मैं तो उसी यूनियन का सदस्य बनूंगा जो मेरी बदली घर के पास करवा सके। ऐसी स्थिति का फायदा उठाकर प्रबंधक उस यूनियन के कहने पर बदली करते हैं, जो उनके साथ मिलकर चलने को तैयार है। ऐसे में मेरा यूनियन में दम घुटता है तथा में सक्रिय नहीं हूं। जंहा तक पद का सवाल है, तो मुझे उससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता। क्योंकि मेरा कोई निजी स्वार्थ नहीं है। मैं अपने आदर्शों के कारण ही अपनी पत्नी के बिजनेस को भी छोड़ आया। तो उसकी तुम चिंता मत करो। जहां तक तुमसे मिलने का सवाल है, तो मैं तुम्हें किसी दिन  क्लब में बुला लूंगा और अपनी एक नई पत्रकार मित्र से मिलवाऊँगा। फिर हम क्लब में ही मिला करेंगे। और बताओ जीवेश और वाटिका कैसे हैं।" 

     Tears filled her eyes and she said "There is no change in Jivesh. He has opened an office in Mumbai. Out of 30 days he spent more than 10 days in Mumbai. There he has appointed one lady Manager and has given her a two bedroom flat from office. When he himself go there he also stays there. If I ask about it then he says that he is saving the Hotel expenses."

Then Apoorv asked "How he behaves  when he is in Delhi. I mean physically and emotionally." She said angrily "Wife is a stand by for, she can be used any time. So he need not to be involved with me emotionally." Apoorv said while smiling " I have told you earlier also that whenever you are with him you get fully involved physically and emotionally with him. Because he is your first love so you are deeply attached with him. But you aren't his first love. When me and Sandhi started getting apart then we freezed our physical and emotional relationship and confine our self in our own circle putting no entry board for other. But this is not happening in your case." Nisha said "On that day also promised to tell me about your family life with Sandhi, so please tell today." Apoorv said "I will introduce you with my new friend. She is also a college mate of Sandhi. When we sit together then we will discuss it there." With this they get up and moved towards their home. 

                निशा की आंखों में आंसू आ गए और बोली "जीवेश का तो वही हाल है। एक ऑफिस मुंबई में खोला है l महीने में 10 दिन तो वहीं रहते हैं। वहां एक मैनेजर रखी है, उसको वहां ऑफिस की तरफ से दो कमरे का किराए पर फ्लैट ले कर दिया है। जब जाते हैं तो वहीं पर रहते हैं। कहती हूं तो बोलते हैं कि होटल किराया बचा रहा हूं।" अपूर्व ने कहा "जब दिल्ली में रहते हैं तो उनका व्यवहार तुम्हारे साथ भावनात्मक और शारीरिक तौर पर कैसे होते हैं।" निशा खींझकर बोली "बीवी तो मुफ्त का माल है, भावनात्मक होने की जरूरत क्या है। शादी की ही इसीलिए है कि पूरी तरह उपभोग कर सकें।" अपूर्व हंसकर बोला "तुम्हारी समस्या यह है कि तुम भावनात्मक तौर पर जीवेश से अभी भी बहुत गहरी जुड़ी हो। पहले भी मैं तुमको कह चुका हूं कि वह तुम्हारा प्रथम प्रेम है। मगर उसका तुम प्रथम प्रेम नहीं हो। तुम जब उसके साथ शरीररिक रूप में पास होती हो तब भावनात्मक रूप से भी उसके पास होती हो। वो इसी बात का फायदा उठाता है। मेरे और संधि का जब अलगाव शुरू हुआ तो वह ठंडापन हम दोनों के बीच गहराता चला गया। और आहिस्ता आहिस्ता अपने-अपने ठंडेपन को समेट कर एक दूसरे को अपने अपने भावनात्मक संसार से बेदखल कर दिया। जो तुम्हारे केस में नहीं हो पा रहा।" निशा बोली "अपूर्व पहले भी एक बार आपने कहा था कि अपनी और संधि की कहानी सुनाएंगे। आज सुना दो न"। अपूर्व बोला "मेरी पत्रकार मित्र जानवी तो संधि की भी कॉलेज की सहपाठी  रह चुकी है। किसी दिन तीनों बैठेंगे उस पर बात करेंगे"। इतना कहकर वह दोनों उठे और घर की तरफ चल दिए।

In next week there was Lohri function in Club. Apoorv called Nisha there and he told Jaanvi also that he is calling a colleague and friend there and wanted to introduce her. All the three met in the club in the evening of Lohri. Lohri was celebrated in Club with fanfare. The Bhangra group performed there. Both Jaanvi and Nisha danced there. They also invited Apoorv for dance but he did not participate much. Nisha and Jaanvi mixed up and no body could judge that they have met for first time. Apoorv was silently but with interest looking at them. Perhaps that's why ladies like serious gents so that he may sit, see and appreciate their activities silently. After coming back to their seats they took the beer and Apoorv said " So.., Jaanvi what's latest news in your politics." Jaanvi said " A big drama may be going to happen in next 2-3 days. But I can't tell you here as it may take a lot of time." Then Nisha said " Let us go to my house as Jivesh has gone to Mumbai and Vatika has gone to her Naani's house for Lohri." They all agreed and move. 

           अगले हफ्ते ही क्लब में लोहड़ी का प्रोग्राम था। अपूर्व ने निशा को भी उस दिन वहीं बुला लिया। जानवी को भी बता दिया कि वह अपनी एक सहकर्मी तथा मित्र को वहां बुला रहा है। ताकि वह भी वहां उपस्थित रहे। शाम को तीनों वहां मिले। क्लब में बहुत रौनक से लोहड़ी जलाई गई तथा भंगड़ा ग्रुप ने अपनी कला का प्रदर्शन किया। जानवी और निशा खूब नाचे। उन्होंने अपूर्व को भी खींचा मगर वह एक दो बार कमर हिला कर वापस आ गया। लग ही नहीं रहा था की निशा और जानवी एक दूसरे से पहली बार मिली है। आमतौर पर देखा गया है कि स्त्रियां गंभीर पुरुषों की तरफ ज्यादा आकर्षित होती हैं। क्योंकि उनको यह अच्छा लगता है कि कोई चुपचाप दिलचस्पी से उनकी एक्टिविटीज को देखें। थोड़ी देर में जब वह वापिस आकर अपूर्व के पास बैठी और बीयर पीने लगी तो अपूर्व ने जानवी से पूछा "और आपकी राजनीतिक दुनिया में क्या चल रहा है"। जानवी चहककर बोली "यार दो-तीन दिन में एक ड्रामा होने वाला है।" अपूर्व और निशा दोनों उसकी तरफ उत्सुकता से देखने लगे। जानवी बोली "मैं यहां पर बैठकर तुम्हें नहीं बता सकती। विस्तार से बताऊंगी तो काफी समय लग जाएगा।"  निशा बोली "तो चलो मेरे यहां चलते हैं  जीवेश तो मुंबई गए हुए हैं और वाटिका लोहड़ी पर नानी के पास गई हुई है।" उन दोनों को भी यह बात पसंद आ गई और तीनों निशा के घर पहुंच गए। 

After reaching Nisha's house they all three took beer mugs in their hands. Then Jaanvi start telling "In 1991 Delhi Police got a lead of Hawala scam used by the Extremist for transferring funds. Then this case was handed over to the CBI. In investigation CBI found that apart from extremist,some other people were using this Hawala route to do cash transactions. In this regard raids were conducted on Chairman of Bhilai Engineering Corporation Mr. Surinder Kumar Jain. Million of foreign currency, Kilos of Gold and other precious articles were found. Along with all these things 2diaries were also found. After some time the CBI DIG Mr. O. P. Sharma was suspended on the charges of corruption as he was charged for not registering this case under TADA and took ₹ 10 lakhs as bribe. In 1993 Mr. Subharamanaym Swami disclosed that he has the concrete evidence that Mr. Lal Krishn Advani had taken ₹2 crore through this Hawala route. This news was published in Jansatta on 17 th August  and on 24th August 1993.Then this case became inactive. But on 12th November in Main Stream Magzine disclosed various names involved in the Hawala Scam on the basis of information received from Socialist leader Mr. Madhu Limay. In total there were 92 names disclosed including 7 Ministers, 2 Governers, leader of opposition various leaders of political parties, several bureaucrats etc. But 23 names could not be recognized. It was disclosed that between 1989 to 1991 ₹64 crores were distributed. In between two Lok Sabha Elections were held. After noise in media Mr. S. K. Jain was arrested. He disclosed the names of so many big leaders and celebrities in a written statement in court though those names were not mentioned in diaries. After some time he was released on bail. Now I have the information that in next few days CBI will file the chargesheet that may include the name of opposition leaders only and most of the names of ruling party are removed."

           घर पहुंचकर निशा ने बीयर निकाल ली और तीनों ने बीयर का मग ले लिया। तब जानवी ने बताना शुरू किया " सन 1991 में दिल्ली पुलिस की एक लीड मिली और उन्होंने एक हवाला कांड को पकड़ा, जिसके द्वारा आतंकवादियों को पैसा मिलता था। बाद में यह केस सीबीआई को सौंप दिया गया। सीबीआई में यह खुलासा हुआ कि आतंकवादियों के अलावा भी कुछ और लोग हवाला के जरिये आपस में लेन देन करते थे। इसी संदर्भ में भिलाई इंजीनियरिंग कॉरपोरेशन के प्रबंधक निदेशक श्री सुरेंद्र कुमार जैन की समितियों पर छापेमारी की। लाखों रुपए के अन्य देशों की करेंसी, कई किलो सोना, अन्य कई चीजें के इलावा दो डायरिया भी मिली थी। उसके कुछ समय बाद ही सीबीआई के डीआईजी श्री ओ पी शर्मा को 10,00,000 रुपए घूस लेकर इस मुकदमे को टाडा में दर्ज न करने के कारण सस्पेंड कर दिया। उसके बाद इस मामले में जांच ढीली पड़ गई l फिर जून 1993 में श्री सुब्रमण्यम स्वामी ने प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में यह घोषणा की कि उनके पास इस बात के पर्याप्त सबूत हैं, कि श्री लालकृष्ण आडवाणी ने श्री एस के जैन से दो करोड़ रुपए लिए थे। इससे सारे मीडिया में अफरा तफरी मच गई। सबसे पहले खबर जनसत्ता में 17 अगस्त 1993 को बिना नाम के, फिर 24 अगस्त 1993 को नाम के साथ छपी। फिर कुछ समय शांति रही और 12 नवंबर 1994 को 'मेन स्ट्रीम' पत्रिका में समाजवादी नेता मधु लिमए के रेफरेंस से जैन डायरी में लिखे नामों का खुलासा किया गया। जिसमें सात मंत्री, कांग्रेस के बड़े नेता, दो राज्यपाल, नेता प्रतिपक्ष तथा कई बड़े-बड़े नेता, सरकारी अधिकारियों को मिलाकर 92 लोगों की पहचान की गई थी। 23 नामों की पहचान नहीं हो पाई थी। मार्च 1989 से 1991 तक कुल ₹64 करोड़ बाटे जाने का आरोप लगाया गया। गौर करने लायक बात यह थी कि इस दौरान 2 लोकसभा चुनाव भी हुए थे। आखिर मीडिया में लगातार उठ रही खबरों और जनता के बढ़ते आक्रोश को देखकर मार्च 1995 में श्री एस के जैन को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। श्री एसके जैन ने अदालत में लिखित बयान देकर कई बड़े-बड़े नेताओं के नाम का उल्लेख किया। जबकि वो विवरण डायरी में मौजूद नहीं थे ।कुछ ही दिनों में उसे जमानत पर छोड़ दिया गया। अब पता चला है कि एक-दो दिन में सीबीआई चार्जशीट दाखिल करने वाली है। जिसमें सत्ताधारी दल के लोगों को छोड़कर सिर्फ विपक्ष के नेताओं का नाम होगा।" 

     Both Apoorv and Nisha screamed together "how is it possible. " Then Apoorv said " One thing is to be noticed that CBI took no action on these files for more than 4years. Then the case was investigated after Court's orders. It seems that too was a mere formality. As far as I remembered the Hon'ble Judge had said 'we can take the horse to the pond but we can't force him to drink water'. It seems by sparing some and accusing some in fact they want to file a weak case so that it couldn't sustain in the court." Jaanvi said "You are right Apoorv actually leaving left parties, the names of leaders of almost all parties are there. The left parties will also not create a scene because so many names of leaders of many friendly parties are there in the list. If no concrete punishment is given in this case then it will a land mark incident and in future there will be a silent  understanding between all the political parties that in such cases parties will accuse one another, but up to some extent only and make it sure that no punishable action is taken against any one." In the meantime it was too late so both the ladies went to Nisha's room and Apoorv went to Vatika's room to sleep. 

              अपूर्व और निशा एक साथ ही बोल पड़े "ऐसा कैसे हो सकता है"। फिर अपूर्व बोला "एक तो सीबीआई ने 4 साल तक सब फाइलों को दबाए रखा। फिर कोर्ट के ऑर्डर पर जांच की और वह भी सिर्फ खानापूर्ति के लिए l जहां तक मुझे याद आता है कि माननीय जज साहब को यह भी कहना पड़ा था, कि हम घोड़े को तलाब तक तो ला सकते हैं। मगर पानी नहीं पिला सकते। ऐसे केस में सिर्फ कुछ के नाम पर चार्जशीट और बाकियों को छोड़ देने का तो एक ही मतलब है कि यह केस कमजोर तरीके से पेश करो ताकि कोर्ट में टिक न सके।" जानवी बोली "अपूर्व तुम ठीक कह रहे हो। इसमें कम्युनिस्ट पार्टियों को छोड़कर तकरीबन  सभी पार्टियों के कई बड़े नेताओं, कई सरकारी अधिकारियों के नाम हैं। इसलिए कोई नहीं चाहता कि इसकी जांच हो। कम्युनिस्ट भी ऐसे कई दलों के साथ सहयोग करते हैं, जिनके नेताओं के नाम इसमें है। अतः वह भी एक सीमा तक ही इसमें बोलेंगे। अगर इसमें कोई सख्त कार्यवही नहीं हुई और दोषियों को सजा नहीं मिली। तो यह आगे से विपक्ष और सत्ताधारी पार्टियों के बीच एक खामोश अंडरस्टैंडिंग बन जाएगी, कि एक दूसरे के घोटालों पर वक्ती तौर पर शोर मचाओ। और फिर ऐसा कुछ करो कि एक दूजे को सजा न होl"  इसी तरह राजनीति पर बातचीत करते हुए रात बहुत हो चुकी थी। इसलिए अपूर्व तो वाटिका के कमरे में जाकर सो गया और निशा तथा जानवी दोनों निशा के बेडरूम में सो गई। 

        Then on 16th January 1996 Jaanvi told Apoorv that charge sheet is filed by CBI and because name of Mr. Lal Krishan Advani is there in the list. So he has resigned as M. P. and said that he would not take any position until his name is cleared off the list. Both appreciate his stand. 

          16 जनवरी 1996 को शाम को जानवी ने क्लब में आकर अपूर्व को बताया कि सीबीआई ने कोर्ट में चार्जशीट दाखिल कर दी है। जिसमें श्री लालकृष्ण आडवाणी और श्री विद्या चरण शुक्ल का नाम है। तथा श्री लालकृष्ण आडवाणी ने सांसद के पद से त्यागपत्र दे दिया है, और कहा कि जब तक बरी नहीं हो जाते तक वह यह पद नहीं लेंगे। दोनों ने ही श्री लालकृष्ण आडवाणी की इस नैतिक जिम्मेदारी लेने की प्रशंसा की।

Jaanvi was not coming to the club for few days. For last so many days Chara Gohtla (Fodder scam) was in the high light of News Papers. This scam was in focus since 1994. So many officers were already facing actions in the case. But now SDM of Chaibasa District Mr. Amit Khare was actively raiding the offices of Animals Husbandry in his area. So many files and record were missing. Payments of less then 10 lacs were made to so many firms which were non existent. Payments of less than ₹10 lacs were selected because not much formalities were required in this and for amount above 10 lacs a lot of documents and formalities were required. It was in news that police had already registered FIR's in Ranchi, Patna and Gumla etc. More than 100 officers and contractors were arrested. Opposition parties were creating a scene and they had brought orders for CBI enquiry. Supreme Court had also endorsed it. Some big people were feared to be involved in it. 

              दो-तीन दिनों से जानवी क्लब में नहीं आ रही थी। कुछ दिनों से अखबारों में बिहार में 1994 से चल रहे चारा घोटाले की चर्चा काफी गर्म थी। निचले स्तर पर काफी अधिकारी उसकी चपेट में पहले ही आ चुके थे। अब चाईबासा के जिला कमिश्नर श्री अमित खरे लगातार पशुपालन विभाग के दफ्तरों में छापेमारी कर रहे थे। कई फाइलें और रिकॉर्ड नहीं मिल रहे थे। कई कंपनियों के नाम से ₹10 लाख से कम के भुगतान किए गए थे। जो कंपनियां थी ही नहीं। 10 लाख से नीचे का अमाउंट इसलिए लिया गया था, क्योंकि 10 लाख से ऊपर कई दस्तावेज दिखाने पढ़ते थे। इस तरह की खबरें थी कि रांची, गुमला, पटना आदि कई जिलों में भी बिहार पुलिस ने एफ आई आर दाखिल की है l पशुपालन विभाग के 100 से ज्यादा अधिकारी और कई ठेकेदार और कर्मचारी गिरफ्तार कर लिए गए। विपक्षी पार्टी बहुत शोर मचा रही थी और पटना हाई कोर्ट में जाकर इसकी जांच सीबीआई द्वारा कराने के आर्डर ले आए थे। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने भी उनके आदेशों पर मोहर लगा दी थी। अब कई बड़े लोगों के इस में फंसने की आशंका थी। 

             On the other side Mr. S. R. Bomai had resigned from the President of Janta Dal and Mr. Lalu Prasaad was elected as the President of Janta Dal. In the club Jaanvi and Apoorv discussed about this. Jaanvi said "Mr. Lalu Prasaad Yadav's name may be there in the accused list. Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao is playing his cards openly and putting his favorites on the positions within party organization. He is also trying to isolate his opponents within and outside party. Mr. Arjun Singh and Mr. N. D. Tiwari has already formed their party named Cong(Tiwari). Mr. P. Chidambaram formed Tamil Manila Congress and Mr. Madhav Raj Scindia has formed Madhy Pradesh Vikas Congress. It seems that this time Regional parties may dominate. Any way from tomorrow on ward I will be going to cover elections and may not be coming to club regularly." Apoorv said "please be in touch with me on phone." Jaanvi said "Oh sure." After that Apoorv and Nisha also got busy in their bank's closing and they also couldn't go to the club. 

          उधर श्री एसआर बोमई ने जनता दल के अध्यक्ष पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया और श्री लालू प्रसाद यादव जनता दल के नए अध्यक्ष चुने गए। आज जानवी आई तो उससे इस पर काफी बातचीत हुईl उसने बताया कि इस घोटाले में श्री लालू प्रसाद यादव का भी नाम आ सकता है।यह भी बताया कि चुनाव से पहले श्री पी वी नरसिम्हा राव खुलकर राजनीतिक गोटियां चल रहे हैं। पार्टी के अंदर और बाहर दोनों जगह अपने विरोधियों को अलग-थलग करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। श्री अर्जुन सिंह और श्री नारायण दत्त तिवारी अपनी 'कांग्रेस (तिवारी) के नाम से अलग पार्टी बना चुके हैं। श्री पीसी चिदंबरम अपनी तमिल मनिला कांग्रेस और श्री माधव राज सिंधिया मध्य प्रदेश विकास कांग्रेस के नाम से अपनी अलग पार्टी बना चुके हैं। लगता है कि इस बार क्षेत्रीय दलों का वर्चस्व रहेगा। जानवी ने अपूर्व को बताया कि वह अब चुनाव के कारण पूरे देश में रिपोर्टिंग के लिए जाया करेगी। तो उसका क्लब में आना कम हो जाएगा। उसके बाद समय गुजरने लगा अपूर्व और निशा अपने-अपने ब्रांच की क्लोजिंग में व्यस्त रहें और जानवी अपनी रिपोर्टिंग में। व्यस्तता की वजह से अपूर्व आजकल क्लब भी नहीं जा पा रहा था। 

       On 27th March 1996 CBI registered first case in 'Chara Ghotaala'. Elections were going to be held on 27th April, 2nd and 7th May 1996.The political atmosphere of the country was becoming from hot to hottest. Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao was trying to create his image as was of Mrs. Indira Gandhi but instead he was tarnishing the image of the party. The issues relating to caste and religion were dominating and money and muscle power were openly used now. Previously candidate were using these things rarely but now the Goons themselves were dreaming to be a candidate. Though lobbying was not allowed in India but many Baba's and people from religious, social organizations were unofficially involved in the election. Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao's closeness with one controversial Baba Chandra Swami was always in limelight. It's not only Narsimha Rao but different Baba were close to so many other politicians. Even British Prime Minister Mrs. Marget Thecher had also praised Baba Chndra Swami. In November 1995 Babloo one of the ex associate of Baba alleged him to be involved in so many criminals acts. 

                तभी 27 मार्च 1996 को सीबीआई ने चारा घोटाला में पहला केस दर्ज किया। अब 27 अप्रैल, 2 मई और 7 मई को चुनाव होने हैं। पूरे देश में चुनाव की गर्मी बढ़ती जा रही है। श्री पीवी नरसिम्हा राव तो श्रीमती इंदिरा गांधी की तरह पार्टी में अपना वर्चस्व बनाना चाहते हैं। जो कि कांग्रेस को बहुत नुकसान पहुंचाता दिख रहा है। धर्म और जाति के नाम पर वोटों के बंटवारे की प्रवृत्ति बढ़ती जा रही है। पैसे का खुला उपयोग चुनाव में होने लगा है। जो कि शायद पूंजीवादी व्यवस्था का एक बायप्रोडक्ट है । पहले कैंडिडेट कुछ पूजीपतियों से पैसा और असामाजिक तत्वों के भय का कहीं-कहीं इस्तेमाल करते थे। वहीं अब स्वयं पूंजीपति पैसे के बल पर और असामाजिक तत्व भय के दबाव से चुनाव लड़ने के सपने देखने लगे हैं। जैसे कि कई पूंजीपति व्यवस्था में होता है कि लॉबिंग कंपनी को कानूनी मान्यता प्राप्त है, ठीक वैसे तो नहीं पर अपरोक्ष रूप से लॉबिंग शुरू हो गई है। कई बाबा, सामाजिक और धार्मिक संस्थाओं से जुड़े लोग इस काम में लगे हुए हैं। इनमें से एक चंद्रा स्वामी से श्री पी वी नरसिंहमा राव की नजदीकियां हमेशा चर्चा का विषय रहीं है। चंद्रास्वामी का संबंध राजनीतिज्ञों से बहुत पुराना है। ब्रिटेन की प्रधानमंत्री श्रीमती मार्गेट थैचर भी चंद्रास्वामी की प्रशंसक रही हैं। नंवबर 1995 में उनके साथ रहे एक आरोपी बबलू ने उन पर कई संगीन जुर्मो में शामिल होने का आरोप लगाया है।

             Baba Chandra Swami was already facing a case of cheating filed against him by a NRI from England Mr. Lakhu Bhai Pathak. According to Lakhu Bhai Pathak's complaint he had given $1, 00,000 to Mr. Chandra Swami who assured him orders of Paper and Paper pulp from Indian Government. Mr. Pathak was assured by Chandra Swami that he has very good influence in Indian Government and in this connection once he was called by Chandra Swami to USA. While sitting outside and waiting to meet Chandra Swami he saw a man came out from the room along with Chandra Swami. Then Chandra Swami introduced that person with Mr. Lakhu Bhai Pathak as Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao a Minister in Indian Government. Then Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao said" Baba ji has given me all the details and your work will be done" and left. Then Mr. Lakhu Bhai gave a cheque of$100000 to Chandra Swami. But neither his work was done nor his money was returned. Then Mr. Lakhu Bhai wrote so many letters to Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao. But those were never replied. Then Mr. Lakhu Bhai filed a case against Chandra Swami and Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao was also made a party in that case. Chandra Swami was sent to jail. In past also some complaints were there against Chandra Swami for brokered deals of sale and purchase of illegal weapons and in Rajiv Gandhi murder case and for link with Dawood. 

                  श्री लखूभाई पाठक का भी उनके विरुद्ध केस था। उसका आरोप था कि चंद्रास्वामी ने चेक के द्वारा उससे $1,00,000 लिए थे। हुआ यह था की चंद्रास्वामी ने 1983 में श्री लखूभाई पाठक नाम के व्यक्ति जो कि एन आर आई था और इंग्लैंड में रहता था, उसको उन्होंने बताया कि भारत में पेपर और पेपर पल्प का काम बहुत मुनाफे वाला है। उनके भारत सरकार में बहुत संबंध है। अतः वह उन्हें भारत मे भारत सरकार के आर्डर दिलवा सकता है। श्री लखूभाई पाठक का आरोप था कि जब अमेरिका में चंद्रास्वामी आए तो उन्हें मिलने के लिए बुलाया गया। तो श्री लखु भाई पाठक को बाहर बिठाया गया। इसी बीच एक व्यक्ति आये और वह चंद्रास्वामी के साथ 1 घंटे तक अकेले में बातचीत करते रहे। जब वह और चंद्रास्वामी बाहर निकले तो चंद्रास्वामी ने श्री लखु भाई पाठक को उस व्यक्ति को मिलाया कि यह श्री पी वी नरसिम्हा राव है। और भारत सरकार में मंत्री हैं। तब श्री नरसिम्हा राव ने उन्हें कहा "स्वामी जी ने मेरे को आपके काम के बारे में बताया है। आपका काम हो जाएगा।" यह कहकर वो चले गए। उसके बाद लखूभाई पाठक ने चंद्रास्वामी को $100000 का चेक दिया। मगर उसके बाद भी उसका काम नहीं हुआ और न पैसे वापिस मिले ।वह तब से पीछे पड़े रहे और इस बीच उन्होंने श्री नरसिम्हा राव को कई पत्र भी लिखे। पर उन्होंने कोई जवाब नहीं दिया। इसलिए श्री लखूभाई पाठक ने चंद्रास्वामी पर केस डाल दिया और श्री नरसिम्हा राव को भी उसमें पार्टी बनाया। चंद्रास्वामी को जेल जाना पड़ा। पहले भी      स्वामी, श्री राजीव गांधी हत्याकांड में, पैसे की लेनदेन के मामले, हथियारों की डील करवाने तथा दाऊद से कथित संबंधों के आरोपों के घेरे में रहा है।

           Election results were declared. Congress got 140 seats while BJP got 160 seats. Janta Dal got only 46 seats. Being the single largest party BJP was called to form a Government. They formed a Government and 15 days time was given to them for proving majority. Mr. Parmod Mahajan was given the duty of forming alliance with other parties to prove the majority. But after 13 days after discussion on 'Confidence Motion' Mr. Atal Bihari Bajpayi resigned. As Mr. V. P. Singh was on bed due to kidney problems but he called up Congress and other parties to form a Government. First of all CPI(M) leader Mr. Jyoti Basu's name was purposed for Prime Minister candidate. But CPI(M) was divided on this issue. One group was saying that where we can not take independent decision there we should not enter in to Government but the other group was saying that once we form a Government then we can increase our effect area and strength. But the opinion of first group was prevailed and Mr. Jyoti Basu's name was dropped. Then Mr. H. D. Devegoda's name was finalized for Prime Minister and Government was formed by the outside support of Congress. 

              आम चुनाव हुए और कांग्रेस की सीटें सिर्फ 140 रह गई। भाजपा बढ़कर 160 तक पहुंच गई। जबकि जनता दल को सिर्फ 46 सीटें मिली। सबसे बड़ी पार्टी होने के नाते भाजपा को सर्वप्रथम सरकार बनाने का न्योता दिया गया। उन्होंने सरकार बनाई और बहुमत साबित करने के लिए उन्हें 15 दिन का समय दिया गया। भाजपा ने श्री प्रमोद महाजन की ड्यूटी लगाई कि वह सभी पार्टियों से बात करके विश्वास मत के लिए जरूरी बहुमत जुटाये। पर 13 दिन बाद ही श्री अटल बिहारी बाजपेयी ने संसद में अपनी सरकार के विश्वास मत पर बहस के दौरान इस्तीफा दे दिया। 13 दिन की श्री अटल बिहारी बाजपेयी की सरकार गिर गई। श्री वी पी सिंह किडनी की बीमारी से जूझ रहे थे और उन्होंने ही कांग्रेस और अन्य दलों से संपर्क साधा। अब पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री श्री ज्योति बसु का नाम प्रधानमंत्री के लिए आगे बढ़ाया। मगर मार्क्सवादी पार्टी मैं एकमत नहीं बन सका। एक धड़े का कहना था की जहां पर हम स्वेच्छा से निर्णय न ले सके वहा हमारा प्रधानमंत्री बनना उचित नहीं है। दूसरे धड़े का मानना था कि अगर एक बार हम प्रधानमंत्री बना देते हैं और जनसंपर्क कार्य करते हैं तो हम पार्टी का देश में विस्तार कर सकते हैं। मगर पहले धड़े की जीत हुई और श्री ज्योति बसु प्रधानमंत्री नहीं बने। फिर श्री एच डी देवेगौड़ा का नाम सामने आया और कांग्रेस के समर्थन से अन्य दलों के साथ उन्होंने सरकार बनाई। 

    Now infighting started in Congress. Mr. Narsimha Rao was finding him in trouble in Lakhu Bhai Pathak case. Though he was having his own people in CWC and state committees but still he was under pressure from various sections of party to resign from Party President's post to save the image of the party. But when the question of who would be the next Party President, then the opponents seems to be divided. After a lot of discussion the name of Mr. Sita Ram Kesari was finalized. Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao gave his approval as Mr. Sita Ram Kesari was supposed to be Mr. Narsimha Rao's own man. Otherwise also being a treasurer of the Party he was not having any mass following. Mr. Narsimha Rao was planning that when he would come out of the legal battle he would get his position back. But after coming to power Mr. Sita Ram Kesari started cornering Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao. 

              तभी कांग्रेस में अपने आंतरिक कलह की खबरें आने लगी। श्री नरसिम्हा राव पर श्री लखूभाई पाठक मामले में शिकंजा कसता जा रहा था। हालांकि श्री नरसिम्हा राव नेे सीडब्ल्यूसी और प्रदेश कमेटियों में अपने आदमी बैठा रखे थे मगर फिर भी उनके पार्टी के अंदर विरोधी, पार्टी की छवि बचाने के नाम पर उन से त्यागपत्र देने की मांग कर रहे थे। श्री नरसिम्हा राव भी राजनीति के मंजे हुए खिलाड़ी हैं। वह जब यह पूछते कि उनके बाद अगला अध्यक्ष कौन होगा तो वहां विरोधी बटते नजर आते। अखिर बड़ी जद्दोजहद के बाद श्री सीताराम केसरी के नाम पर सहमति बनी। श्री नरसिम्हा राव का सोचना था कि श्री सीताराम केसरी उनके अपने आदमी हैं और वैसे भी खजांची के रूप में काम करने के कारण संगठन में इतने सशक्त नहीं है। जब श्री नरसिम्हा राव के केस खत्म हो जाएंगे तो वह फिर से अपने पद को पा सकेंगे। मगर श्री सीताराम केसरी ने अध्यक्ष बनते ही अपनी नजरें फेर ली और श्री नरसिम्हा राव को किनारे लगाना शुरू कर दिया।

             On 19th September 1996 Jaanvi met Apoorv in the club. Jaanvi said " You know Apoorv a drama took place in Gujrat Assembly today. As Mr. Suresh Mehta was to get Confidence Motion passed from the Assembly. But the acting speaker expelled all the opposition members from the Assembly and got the motion passed. When Marshalls tried to evacuate the MLAs from the house then both the sides started throwing mikes, cushions etc on each other. I don't know Apoorv what type of democracy it is. Most probably by today evening or tomorrow morning President rule may be imposed there.  U. P may also get a hung assembly in next month elections." Apoorv said "Such incidents are really unfortunate as it gave a bad name to our democracy."

           19 सितंबर 1996 की शाम को जब जानवी और अपूर्व मिले, तो जानवी ने अपूर्व को बताया कि आज गुजरात विधानसभा में श्री सुरेश मेहता की भाजपा सरकार ने विश्वास मत प्रस्ताव हासिल करना था। मगर कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष ने सारे विरोधी विधायकों को सदन से निष्कासित कर दिया और उन्होंने विश्वास मत हासिल कर लिया। जब मार्शलों ने विधायको को बाहर निकालने की कोशिश की, तो दोनों पक्षों में जमकर हंगामा हुआ। माइक्रोफोन फेंके गए, कुशन फेंके गए तथा कई लोग घायल हुए। आखिर यह राजनीति कैसे लोगों के हाथ में आ गई है और यह कैसा प्रजातंत्र है। जानवी ने यह भी बताया कि रात को या सुबह वहां राष्ट्रपति शासन लग जाएगा। जानवी ने यह भी बताया कि उत्तर प्रदेश में किसी को स्पष्ट बहुमत मिलने की उम्मीद नहीं है। वँहा अक्टूबर में चुनाव है। दोनों देश की राजनीतिक घटनाक्रम से बहुत चिंतित हुए। 

             Then Jaanvi asked "Apoorv I have not seen Sandhi for a long in the Club. Is she very busy". Apoorv said " I don't know where she is busy. But now it is very difficult to continue with her." Jaanvi was surprised and said "Apoorv as far as me and my ex-husband are concerned then I can say that I am a, reporter and my husband is a Professor. We both are from so called intellectual category. We are being the followers of Western culture has learnt from them if you can't adjust even ideologically with your partner then you can separate peace fully. But I am not able to understand the problems between you and Sandhi." Apoorv said while smiling "As you people have learnt that if you can't adjust with your partner then take divorce. Similarly we have learnt from slowly diminishing our family values that it's natural that no two people can think 100% alike. So even if you get married to some one who is not a right partner for you, even then you keep managing. But now we have changed a little to get apart in the same house without taking a divorce. You are free to have your own personal life" Both of them laughed. Jaanvi said " How much relaxation is allowed in your so called 'Own Life'." Apoorv said smiling "I will tell you, let the time comes."

        तभी जानवी ने पूछा "अपूर्व  सधि क्लब में नजर नहीं आती। क्या ज्यादा व्यस्त रहती है।" अपूर्व ने मुस्कुराते हुए कहा "व्यस्तता तो उसको ही पता होगी कि कहां व्यस्त रहती है। मगर अब एक म्यान में दो तलवारें नहीं रह सकती।" जानवी ने हैरानी से कहा "यार मैं तो चलो पत्रकार हूं और मेरे पति भी बुद्धिजीवी श्रेणी में आने वाले प्रध्यापक थे। पश्चिमी विचारधारा से हम तथाकथित बुद्धिजीवियों ने यह बात तो सीखी है कि अगर भावावेश में शादी कर लो और आपस में न बन सके तो शांति से तलाक ले लो। देश में अब तलाक होने तो शुरू हो गए हैं। मगर तुम दोनों का यह रवैया मुझे कुछ समझ नहीं आया।" अपूर्व ने हंसते हुए कहा "जैसे तुम बुद्धिजीवी पश्चिमी विचारधारा से जीवन शैली और विचार न मिलने के कारण तलाक सीख गए हो, वैसे ही हम उच्च मध्यमवर्गीय लोग भी उस पुरानी विचारधारा को निभाते है कि जहां 'दो बर्तन रहते हैं वह खटकते भी हैं और अगर बेमेल शादी हो भी जाए तो चुपचाप निभाते रहो'। हां इतना जरूर हम बदल गए हैं कि हम शांति से अपनी अपनी जिंदगी बिना संबंध तोड़े जीते रहते हैं।" इस पर दोनों हंस पड़े। जानवी ने फिर छेड़ते हुए कहा "यह अपनी अपनी जिंदगी में कहां तक छूट है।" अपूर्व ने मुस्कुराते देखा "कभी मौका आने दो फिर बताऊंगा"। रात बहुत हो गई थी। गुड नाइट कह कर दोनों अपने घर की तरफ चले गए।

In first week of October Nisha called Apoorv and fix up time to meet him in club. In the evening when they met Nisha told him that the Conference of the Union would be held soon. His name is not in the new list of office bearers and she had decided to  withdraw her name from the Central Committee. Apoorv said " See Nisha if you are not going to the Central Committee because I am not there then it's wrong. 

           अक्टूबर के पहले सप्ताह में निशा का फोन आया कि वह शाम को अपूर्व से मिलने आएगी। क्लब में शाम को निशा और अपूर्व मिले। निशा ने बताया कि यूनियन का अधिवेशन होने जा रहा है। अपूर्व का नाम नई टीम में नहीं है, और निशा ने भी यह फैसला किया है कि वह इस बार केंद्रीय समिति में नहीं जाएगी। अपूर्व ने निशा से कहा देखो निशा "अगर इस बार मेरी वजह से पीछे हट रही हो कि मेरा नाम नहीं है, तो यह गलत है। मेरा नाम न जाने का मुझे कोई अफसोस नहीं है। क्योंकि मुझे स्वयं ही पिछले कुछ समय से यूनियन की कार्यप्रणाली से असंतुष्टता बढ़ती जा रही थी। मुझे लग रहा था कि यूनियन अब मैनेजमेंट के साथ मिलकर समानांतर मैनेजमेंट चलाने लगी है। प्रबंधकों की आंतरिक कलह में भी यूनियन का रोल होने लगा है  अगर प्रबंधन का एक ग्रुप दूसरे ग्रुप को परेशान करना चाहता है, तो दूसरे ग्रुप के कुछ गलत कामों के कागज यूनियन के अपने चहेतों के हाथ में दे देता है। और शोर मच जाता है। जवाब मैं दूसरा ग्रुप अपने यूनियन के चाहेतो के हाथ पहले ग्रुप के बारे में कागज देख कर शोर मचवा देता है। ज्यादा यूनियन होने की वजह से यूनियन अब प्रबंधकों का हथियार बन चुके हैं। बदले में प्रबंधक अपनी अपनी चहेती यूनियन के कहने पर काम कर देते हैं तथा अब तो सुना है कि आर्थिक फायदे भी उन्हे मिलने लगे हैं। ऐसे में मैं तो खुद ही पीछे हटना चाहता हूं। अब तुम बताओ तुम क्यों छोड़ना चाहती हो।" निशा बोली "सर, मैं तो यूनियन की कार्यसमिति सदस्य हूं ।मेरा इंटरेस्ट तो आपकी वजह से था। इसलिए अब मैं भी यूनियन में काम नहीं करना चाहती।" अपूर्व ने बोला "यह तो ठीक नहीं है।" 

      At the same time Jaanvi entered and asked "Let me also know what is not right. Nisha are you going to elope with Apoorv." Then Apoorv tell her the whole story and ask her opinion. Now the Jaanvi got serious and said "See Apoorv this problem is there in almost all the Unions. In our field the unions are clearly divided over ideology. They are openly divided in two streams Left or Right. In banking sector most of the unions belongs to left parties. But they can't propagate the left ideology in open because there are several lakhs of employees in banking sector but in the name of ideology only few are there. So, in Mass front they don't talk of ideology. They focused only on the economical issue. In our Journalist Unions most of them were left leaning but after the collapse of USSR now Right wing unions are coming up. Now left leaning unions are also talking of Economical package only. Now labour law reforms are also on cards. That will be disastrous for the working class. Because in this system companies will follow Hire and Fire policy. But in our country no social Securities like unemployment allowance are there. We shall be very careful while implementing such policies. But Nisha you must stay in the Union so the latest developments of the Union are known to us." At last it was decided that Nisha will stay in Union. Then Jaanvi told that Mr Narsimha Rao was side lined and Mr. Sita Ram Kesari was not helping him. Mr. Narsimha Rao was removed from the post of President of C.P.P.and Mr. Sita Ram Kesari has replaced him. Mr. Narsimha Rao may be arrested any time. 

           तभी जानवी ने आते पूछा" क्या ठीक नहीं है भाई, हमें भी तो बताओ। क्यों निशा कहीं हमारे अपूर्व को भगाकर तो नहीं ले जाना चाहती।" अपूर्व ने हंसते हुए सारा मामला बताया और जानवी से उसके विचार पूछे। जानवी ने गंभीर होकर कहा "देखो अपूर्व यह समस्या तो अब हर जगह चल रही है। अभी बैंक में तो वामपंथी और दक्षिणपंथी विचारधारा की खुली लड़ाई नहीं चल रही। क्योंकि बैंक सरकारी हैं और प्रबंधक भी कर्मचारी है। वहां पर आर्थिक प्रलोभन और अन्य प्रलोभन काम कर रहे हैं। वहीं ज्यादातर यूनियन वामपंथी पार्टियों से संबंध रखती हैं। मगर पार्टियां भी जानती हैं कि अगर विचारधारा का प्रचार करके वह यूनियन चलाएंगे तो उन्हें नुकसान होगा। क्योंकि देश में बैंकिंग क्षेत्र में लाखों कर्मचारी हैं जिसमें वह वामपंथी विचारधारा के मानने वाले कुछ हजार ही होंगे। इसलिए वह मांस फ्रंट में विचारधारा की बात नहीं करते। हमारे पत्रकार संघ तो खुलेआम विचारधारा के नाम पर बंटे हुए हैं। पहले वामपंथियों को रूस से सहायता मिलती थी और उन्हें वहां ले जाकर ट्रेनिंग भी दी जाती थी। उनका तकरीबन हर पत्रकार संघ पर कब्जा था। मगर रूस में सत्ता परिवर्तन होने के बाद उदारीकरण की नीति के तहत दक्षिणपंथी पत्रकार संघों की संख्या बढ़ती जा रही है। अब यह पत्रकार संघ भी राजनीति का अखाड़ा बनते जा रहे हैं। वामपंथी पहले कम से कम कमजोरियों की बात तो करते थे। मगर अब उदारीकरण के दौर में वह भी दक्षिण पंथियों की तरह आर्थिक लाभों को दिलाने के लिए ही ज्यादा जोर देने लगे हैं। लेबर कानूनों पर भी उदारीकरण की बात की जा रही है । जो कि भविष्य में कामगारों और कर्मचारियों की दुर्दशा कर देगा। दक्षिणपंथी तो हायर एंड फायर की नीति में विश्वास करते हैं। मगर वह यह बात भूल जाते हैं कि भारत जैसे देश में कोई सोशल सिक्योरिटी या बेरोजगारी भत्ते जैसी कुछ चीज नहीं है। ऐसे में ऐसी नीति के क्या दुष्परिणाम होंगे यह तो वक्त बताएगा।मगर निशा को तो केंद्रीय समिति में रहना ही चाहिए। ताकि यूनियन की गतिविधियों का पता चलता रहे।" अंत मे यही फैसला हुआ कि निशा कार्यसमिति में बनी रहेगी ।फिर और बातें होने लगी और जानवी ने बताया कि श्री नरसिम्हा राव घिरते जा रहे हैं। और श्री सीताराम केसरी उनकी कोई मदद नहीं कर रहे हैं । उन्हें कांग्रेस संसदीय दल के नेता से भी हटा कर खुद बन गए हैं। किसी वक्त भी उनकी गिरफ्तारी हो सकती है।

On 16th October 1996 when Jaanvi met Apoorv in the club then there were so many news to discuss. On 10 th of October Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao was arrested. On 11th October U. P. results were declared and it was a hung assembly. Jaanvi said "Mr. Sita Ram Kesari visited Mr. H. D. Devegoda in person and requested him that as Congress is supporting them in Centre so likewise in U. P. they may support them also. Mr Devegoda told him that only steering committee can take decisions in this issue. Whatever may be the decision of the committee that will be conveyed to Mr. Kesari by Mr. Devegoda in person. But the decision of not supporting Congress and it's allies was declared in a Press Conference by the spokesman of Janta Dal. It was a humiliating for Congress and was against the ethics of Coalition. Actually in fact Mr. Devegoda is having very close relationship with Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao and that's why he has not supported Congress in U. P. just to humiliate Mr. Kesari. Though even that Congress has not withdrawn it's support but the relations between Mr. Kesari and Mr Devegoda has reached its low." Then Apoorv said " In this year India has seen so much uncertainty and ups and downs."

                16 अक्टूबर 1996 को जानवी जब क्लब में मिली तो उसके पास कई खबरें थी बताने को। 10 अक्टूबर 1996 को श्री पी वी नरसिम्हा राव को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। 11 अक्टूबर 1996 को उत्तर प्रदेश में हंग असेंबली आ गई। श्री सीताराम केसरी खुद श्री देवेगौड़ा के घर गए, कि जैसे कांग्रेस ने सेंटर में श्री देवेगौड़ा की सरकार को समर्थन दिया है, उसी तरह अब उत्तर प्रदेश में कांग्रेस और सहयोगी दलों को सरकार बनाने में वह मदद करें। श्री देवेगौड़ा ने कहा कि यह फैसला तो सिटीरिंग कमेटी ले सकती है। जो भी फैसला होगा वह श्री देवेगौड़ा स्वयं श्री सीताराम केसरी के घर जा कर बताएंगे। मगर श्री देवेगौड़ा का श्री सीताराम केसरी  के घर जा कर बताना तो दूर उन्होंने फोन पर भी नहीं बताया। बल्कि किसी भी कांग्रेस नेता को बताने की बजाय जनता दल के स्पोक पर्सन ने प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस करके बताया कि वह कांग्रेस को उत्तर प्रदेश में समर्थन नहीं दे रहे। यह तो वाकई गठबंधन नियम के खिलाफ है। असल में श्री देवेगौड़ा के श्री पी वी नरसिम्हा राव से नजदीकी संबंध माने जाते हैं। और श्री सीताराम केसरी के संबंध श्री नरसिम्हा राव के साथ खराब है। इसके बाद भी कांग्रेस ने अपना समर्थन वापस नहीं लिया हैl मगर श्री सीताराम केसरी और श्री एच डी देवगौड़ा के बीच संबंध बिगड़ते चले जा रहे हैं। कुल मिलाकर 1996 एक बहुत उथल-पुथल वाला साल गया है।

On 21st December 1996 the Conference of Union was held and Apoorv's name was not there for any post. Though Apoorv himself was not interested but when he finally disassociated he was sad. But then Shandily came home in X-Mas holiday and all were busy in planning the New Year party. They had a wonderful New Year Party. In first week of January 1997 Apoorv got a call from Secretary of the Union that a Welcome Party is planned to welcome the New Committee and requested him to come. Apoorv gave his approval. Apoorv reached there in time. Except 1or 2 almost all old faces were there. After formal addresses by few senior leaders people started taking tea etc.in groups. In one group Apoorv was also there. They started discussion on the political issues. One person said "With the collapse of USSR now China is the only hope for the left leaning trade unions." Apoorv said" But China is also on the path of Capatilism. Though it's another thing that Communist Party is in power. So you can say it is Communist Capatilism. In my opinion it is more dangerous then Democratic Capatilism. Because in Democracy leaders at least have some fear that people may not change them in next election but in countries like China this fear is also not there." Nakul said" How can you say that Apoorv. Within party elections are conducted regularly. President is elected only after election in the party." Apoorv said " You are talking about an ideal Communist party. If you talk of a Communist State then there is no space for Capatilism. But like other parties the Communist parties also do not have any inner party democracy." Nakul said " So in your opinion only direct elections is Democracy and elections by delegates is not democracy. But one thing you are not taking care off is if we allow direct elections then the people of other ideologies can take over our unions." Apoorv said "Then better you don't talk of Democracy in Communist party." Nakul said " You were a very senior leader, so we will discuss it in some free time." With this Nakul left and after some time Apoorv also left for home. 

           21 दिसंबर को यूनियन का अधिवेशन हुआ और अपूर्व का नाम इस बार किसी भी पद के लिए नहीं आया। हालांकि अपूर्व का मन यूनियन से हट चुका था मगर फिर भी जब फाइनल संबंध विच्छेद होता है तो बुरा तो लगता ही है। अपूर्व का मन भी दो-तीन दिन तक खराब रहा फिर शांडिल्य के घर आने से घर में फिर रौनक हो गई ।और क्रिसमस और नए साल की भाग दौड़ में सब कुछ भूल गया। नए साल में दो-तीन दिन बाद एक दिन यूनियन के शर्मा जी का फोन आया उन्होंने बताया कि पिछली यूनियन के पदाधिकारियों की टीम नए पदाधिकारियों को पार्टी दे रही है। तो आप जरूर आएं। अपूर्व ने आश्वासन दिया कि वह आएगा। जब वह निश्चित समय पर पहुंचा तो देखा एक दो नए चेहरे  छोड़कर बाकी वही पुराने चेहरे थे। प्रारंभिक औपचारिक स्वागत के बाद सब चाय पीते हुए अलग-अलग ग्रुप में खड़े होकर बातें करने लगे। अपूर्व भी एक ग्रुप में खड़ा था और राजनीतिक हालात पर बातचीत होने लगी। बातों बातों में किसी ने कहा कि रूस के बाद चीन ही वामपंथियों की उम्मीद बचा है। इस पर अपूर्व ने कहा कि चीन भी तो पूंजीवादी विचारधारा पर चल रहा है। यह बात और है कि सत्ता वहां की कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी के पास है। यानी कि यह एक कम्युनिस्ट पूंजीवाद है। यह प्रजातांत्रिक पूंजीवाद से भी ज्यादा खतरनाक है। इस पर नकुल बोला "वह कैसे"। अपूर्व ने कहा "देखो प्रजातांत्रिक पूंजीवाद में चुनाव होते हैं और जनता का कुछ डर सरकार को होता है कि कहीं अगली बार वह उसे बदल न दे। मगर चीन मॉडल में तो वह भी नहीं है।" नकुल बोला "क्यों नहीं है। पार्टी के अंदर तो चुनाव होते हैं। और उन चुनाव से ही तो प्रेसिडेंट बनता है।" अपूर्व बोला "यह तो तुम एक आदर्शवादी कम्युनिस्ट व्यवस्था की बात कर रहे हो। उस व्यवस्था में तो मार्केट अर्थव्यवस्था का कोई रोल ही नहीं होता। तुम्हें लगता है कि अन्य भारतीय पार्टियों की तरह भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टियों में भी अब कोई आंतरिक लोकतंत्र बचा है। सब पार्टियों के आंतरिक लोकतंत्र के खत्म होने पर तकरीबन सभी पार्टियों में विघटन होता जा रहा है। और छोटी छोटी पार्टियां बनती जा रही हैं।" नकुल फिर बोला "अपूर्व आप सीधे चुनाव को ही चुनाव मानते हो। डेलीगेट के द्वारा चुनाव को प्रजातंत्र नहीं मानते हो" अपूर्व बोला "ठीक यही बात है। डेलीगेट से चुनाव कैसा होता है वह तो मैं इतने साल से यूनियन में भी देख रहा हूं।" नकुल ने कहा "देखो आप बड़े सीनियर पदाधिकारी रहे हो। आप अच्छी तरह जानते हो कि अगर खुले चुनाव करवाए जाएं, तो बहुत से अन्य विचारधारा के लोग हमारी यूनियन पर कब्जा कर सकते हैं। इसलिए डेेलीगेट के जरिए चुनाव कराए जाते हैं।" अपूूूर्व ने कहा "तो भाई कम्युनिस्ट विचारधारा मैं आंतरिक प्रजातंत्र की बात मत करो।" नकुल यह कहते चल दिया यह लंबी बात है फिर करेंगे। और अपूर्व भी सब से विदा लेकर घर वापस आ गया।

             On Lohri like last year Nisha, Jaanvi and Apoorv decided to meet in club. This time Jaanvi called Sandhi also. When they all came there it was a little early and there was some time in the program. They ordered for tea and started discussing the conference. Jaanvi asked from Apoorv about Welcome Party. But Sandhi was surprised as she didn't know that Apoorv had disassociate himself from Union activities. She asked "Apoorv what will you do in spare time." Apoorv looked at her in a strange manner as he was saying that right of asking this you had already lost. But apparently he said " Not decided yet." Jaanvi said "Now you will be, able to think in a widder manner and with an open mind. Because previously when ever you tried to think beyond you party line then after some limits your party line start pulling you back. But now you will be a free man with sky is the limit." Then Saandhi said "Now you will be able to understand my business in a better manner". Nisha also entered the discussion and said " Then why you did not allow me to get free."

          लोहड़ी वाले दिन पिछले साल की तरह इस बार भी निशा, जानवी और अपूर्व ने कलब मैं मिलने का प्रोग्राम बनाया। इस बार जानवी ने संधि को भी फोन कर कर बुला लिया। सब लोग जल्दी पहुंच गए थे इसलिए चाय पर चर्चा शुरू हो गई। जानवी ने उस दिन मीटिंग के बारे में पूछा तो अपूर्व ने सारी बात सुना दी। संधि को तब तक पता ही नहीं था कि अपूर्व ने यूनियन में काम करना छोड़ दिया है। उस ने हैरान होकर पूछा  "अपूर्व तुमने बताया ही नहीं। अब खाली समय में क्या करोगे"। अपूर्व ने अजीब सी नजरों से संधि की ओर देखा। जैसे कह रहा हो कि एक दूसरे से यह पूछने का अधिकार तो हम दोनों ने पहले ही खो दिया है। मगर प्रत्यक्ष रूप से बोला "अभी सोचा नहीं"। जानवी बोली "अपूर्व अब तुम अपने दिमाग की खिड़की खोल कर एक आम आदमी की तरह कुछ सोच समझ सकोगे। जब तक तुम एक विचारधारा से जुड़े थे तब तक तुम कुछ नया देखने सुनने और उस पर विचार करना शुरू करते थे, तभी उस विचारधारा के बादल तुम्हारे दिमाग में मंडराने लगते थे। और एक सीमा से आगे उस विचारधारा के विरूद्ध तुम कुछ सोच नहीं पाते थे। अब तो बादल तुम्हारे दिमाग से छट चुके हैं। अब तुम्हारी सोच व्यापक हो जाएगी।" संधि तब मुस्कुरा कर बोली "अब मैं समझती हूँ कि तुम मेरे व्यापार को अब यूनियन की विचारधारा से नहीं देखोगे।" निशा ने भी मौके का फायदा उठाते हुए कहा "अपूर्व तो तुमने मुझे आजादी की सांस क्यों नहीं लेने दी।" 

      Looking at all of them Apoorv said while smiling " You all three are taking the benefits of situation. So Sandhi first of all I will tell you that I have never seen your business as a trade unionist. But in fact our view point about life and business has always differ. But still when you needed my help I came for your help. I know that if you start working according to me then you will work only half heartedly and your business may suffer. Now when you get a substitute I came back to my job because I never stay anywhere if I am not useful there. Jaanvi as per your assessment I would like to make it clear to you that I was not a blind follower. That's why I came out. As far as Nisha is concerned so I may say that you have not even read or heard that ideology. I have lived that ideology. If I can leave them then you can come back any time." Jaanvi said "Apoorv one thing you must take care that in business you have allowed a substitute but in family life you take care and don't allow any substitute." They all laughed. In the meantime drums started beating and they all moved towards that. 

            तीनों की तरह मुस्कुराकर देखते हुए अपूर्व ने कहा "यार तुम तीनों तो मौके का फायदा उठाकर मुझे मुर्गा बना रही हो। संधि पहले तो तुम सुनो। मैंने कभी भी तुम्हारे व्यापार को यूनियन की नजर से नहीं देखा। मैंने जब भी जरूरत देखी हमेशा तुम्हारी मदद की। मैं मगर कभी भी अनुपयोगी बनकर नहीं काम कर सकता। मुझे यह स्पष्ट पता है कि तुम्हारे व्यापार के ज्यादातर मसलों पर हम अलग-अलग दृष्टिकोण रखते हैंl  तुम मेरी तरह से व्यापार चलाओगी तो अधूरे मन से काम करोगी। उसका सीधा असर तुम्हारे व्यापार पर पड़ेगा और मैं ऐसा कदापि नहीं चाहता। इसलिए जैसे ही मेरा पूरक कोई मिल गया तो मैं वापस अपनी नौकरी पर आ गया। जहां तक दिमाग की खिड़कियां खोलने का सवाल है। तो जानवी मैंने हमेशा अपने दिमाग की खिड़कियों में दरार रखी थी। ताकि जब चाहूं खोल सकूं। उन दरार की वजह से ही मैं अपनी सोच को बदलता रहा। हर चीज पर अपना विश्लेषण (एनालिसिस) करता रहा। जहां तक निशा का सवाल है, तो तुम तो अभी उस विचारधारा से जुड़ी ही नहीं। तुमने तो उस विचारधारा को ठीक से पढ़ा या सुना भी नहीं। जबकि मैंने तो उस विचारधारा को जिया है। तुम तो जब चाहो वहां से वापस आ सकती हो।" जानवी हंस कर बोली "अपूर्व व्यापार में तो संधि को तुमने अपना पूरक लेने दिया मगर असली जिंदगी में न लेने देना।" सब हंस पड़े ।तभी ढोल बजने लगे और तब लोहड़ी के त्यौहार की तरफ चले गए।

           After few days Jaanvi and Apoorv met in the club. Apoorv asked " So what is going on in politics now a days." Jaanvi said " Things are not good in Congress. The worst part is that Mr. H. D. Devogoda is too much involved in inner party politics of Congress. Mr. Sita Ram Kesari is in tight corner as some enquiries are going on against him. One enquiry of death of his Physician in 1993 has just started. One enquiry of bribery case of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is already in progress because he was the Treasurer of Congress at that time. Mr. H. D. Devegoda coalition should have extended its support to Congress in U. P.  Otherwise also Mr. Devegoda could have given the details of the policies of Government to Mr. Sita Ram Kesari as he is the President of Congress. But Minister of Mr. Devegoda Government are giving reports to other leaders of Congress. In Punjab also situation is not favourable for Congress due to misdeeds of Mr. P. V. Narsimha Rao's Government. Let us see what happens. Any way how is Sandhi." Apoorv said "She is fine."

          कुछ दिनों बाद एक दिन जानवी जब अपूर्व से मिली तो उसने बताया कि कांग्रेस में अंदर बड़ी उठापटक चल रही है। श्री सीताराम केसरी के श्री एचडी देवेगौड़ा से संबंध बिल्कुल बिगड़ चुके हैं। श्री सीताराम केसरी की कई सीबीआई इंक्वायरी चल रही हैं और उसमें श्री एच डी देवगौड़ा अब श्री सीताराम केसरी की कोई मदद नहीं कर रहे। श्री सीताराम केसरी के फिजिशियन डॉक्टर तंवर की हत्या अक्टूबर 1993 में हुई थी। उसकी भी इंक्वायरी शुरू हो गई है। झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा के घूस कांड में भी श्री सीताराम केसरी से पूछताछ हो रही है क्योंकि वह उस समय कांग्रेस के खजांची थे। जानवी बोली " श्री देवेगौड़ा को गठबंधन धर्म निभाना चाहिए। यह तो मैं नहीं कहती कि सीबीआई के फेर से श्री सीताराम केसरी को बचाए। मगर उसे कांग्रेस को उत्तर प्रदेश में समर्थन देना चाहिए था । दूसरा श्री सीता राम केसरी के अध्यक्ष रहते उनकी पद की गरिमा को ध्यान रखते हुए सरकार के कार्यकलापों की जानकारी उन्हें देनी चाहिए न कि कांग्रेस के पूर्व अध्यक्ष या अन्य नेताओं को। श्री एच डी देवगौड़ा को कांग्रेस की अंदरूनी झगड़ों में नहीं फंसना चाहिए। पंजाब के चुनाव में भी कांग्रेस की हालत पतली है। श्री नरसिम्हा राव के कार्यकाल में हुए घोटालों से कांग्रेस की छवि को बहुत नुकसान पहुंचा है। अब यह अंदर की उठापटक से पता नहीं क्या होगा। " फिर जानवी ने पूछा "और संधि कैसी है।" अपूर्व ने कहा "ठीक है"। 

        Jaanvi asked "Apoorv have you decided what will you  in your free time." Apoorv said "I am planning to form N. G. O. In that our main aim will be to help those lower middle class and lower class people those who do not know how to get works done from Government Departments. We will help them in Correspondence etc." Jaanvi immediately reacted and said "It is a noble cause and I am with you. If needed we can take help from my Newspaper also." Apoorv said " O. K. Janvi then I will start the process of Registration of N. G. O. In next few days Apoorv got his N. G. O registered with the help of his friends. Apoorv was the General Secretary, Jaanvi was appointed as President and Mr. Mehta was the treasurer. Nisha, Pankhuri, Atul and Varun were in the Central Committee. Some posts were kept for people who joined in future. By taking help from their circle they got so many people joined in their N. G. O. Slowly people started coming to their office for help and who so ever is free use to go there and do the correspondence there. Their office was in a lower middle class colony and was becoming popular. 

         जानवी ने पूछा "अपूर्व तुमने सोचा कि खाली समय में क्या करोगे।" अपूर्व ने कहा" मैं सोच रहा हूं कि एक एनजीओ बना लू। और उसमें जरूरतमंद लोगों को जिनको सरकारी विभाग में काम करवाने का तरीका मालूम नहीं है उनके काम के लिए मैं पत्राचार में उनकी सहायता करू"। जानवी तुरंत बोली "जरूर अपूर्व ठीक रहेगा। इसमें मैं भी तुम्हारी सहायता कर सकती हूं ।जहां जरूरत पड़ेगी हम समाचार माध्यम का भी प्रयोग कर सकते हैं।" अपूर्व ने कहा ठीक है जानवी तो मै इसकी पंजीकरण की प्रक्रिया शुरू करता हूं ।अपूर्व ने पंजीकरण की प्रक्रिया शुरू की तथा इसके लिए अपने मित्रों और बैंक में सहयोगियों से सहायता ली। जानवी इसकी अध्यक्ष, अपूर्व जनरल सेक्रेटरी और मेहता इसके खजांची बने। पंखुरी, निशा, वरुण और अतुल इसकी कार्यसमिति में रखे गए। बाकी पोस्ट भविष्य में आने वाले लोगों के लिए रखे गए। इसमें सब ने अपने अपने संबंधों को इस्तेमाल करके काफी लोगों को जोड़ लिया। आहिस्ता आहिस्ता यह एनजीओ जोर पकड़ता जा रहा था। छोटे कर्मचारी और दुकानदार, अनपढ़ लोग जो छोटे-छोटे काम धंधे करते थे वह अपनी समस्याएं लेकर आते थे। और जिसके भी पास में समय होता था वह उनके पत्र बना देता था। एनजीओ का कार्यालय एक निम्न मध्यमवर्गीय कॉलोनी में खोला था। क्योंकि उनकी एनजीओ में आने वाले लोग ऐसी कॉलोनी में ही रहते थे। आहिस्ता आहिस्ता उनकी एनजीओ चल पड़ी।
